Cookie policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage that projineer.com uses, what each item does and how long it lasts, and how you can accept, decline or change your choice about analytics cookies.
The website uses no advertising or social media cookies, and Google Analytics only loads if you choose Accept.

What cookies and similar storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise the same browser later or remember something from one page to the next. Websites can also keep small pieces of information in your browser’s local storage, which stays until it is cleared, or in session storage, which lasts only for the session of a single browser tab.
The law on cookies applies to any information stored on, or read from, your device, so this policy lists local and session storage alongside cookies.
What this website stores on your device
Here is the short version:
- No advertising, remarketing or social media cookies or pixels are used on this website.
- Google Analytics cookies are set only if you choose Accept in the cookie panel. If you choose Decline, or ignore the panel, Google Analytics does not load.
- Two small items are stored without needing your consent, because they are strictly necessary for things you have asked the website to do. One remembers your cookie choice and the other lets the thank-you page confirm that your enquiry arrived.
- Umami, which we use to count page views, sets no cookies, and the spam check on our contact form set none when we tested it.
The cookie panel, Google Analytics and Umami run only on projineer.com and www.projineer.com. Fonts and images are served from projineer.com itself, so viewing a page does not involve a separate font or image service.
Each cookie and storage item in detail
This table lists each cookie and storage item used by the website’s public pages.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
pj-cookie-consent (local storage) | Projineer (this website) | Remembers whether you chose Accept or Decline, so your choice is respected and the panel does not reappear on every page | Strictly necessary | Until you clear your browser’s site data for projineer.com |
projineer:enquiry-confirmed (session storage) | Projineer (this website) | Lets the thank-you page confirm that our server received your enquiry. It holds only a timestamp, never anything from your enquiry | Strictly necessary | Removed as soon as the thank-you page reads it. If that page is never opened, the site ignores it after 10 minutes and your browser discards it when the tab’s session ends |
_ga (cookie) | Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) | Tells one visitor’s browser apart from another’s so Google Analytics can count visitors | Analytics, only with consent | 2 years by default |
_ga_1ECG6N6RSY (cookie) | Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) | Keeps track of your current visit (the session) for Google Analytics | Analytics, only with consent | 2 years by default |
The two-year lifetimes are the defaults Google publishes in its Google Analytics cookie usage guide. Google also notes that some browsers shorten the life of these cookies if you do not return to the site.
Google Analytics loads only if you accept
On your first visit to projineer.com, a panel at the bottom of the screen explains that we use optional analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, and offers Accept and Decline.
Google Analytics 4 does not load until you choose Accept. When you do, the site loads the Google tag from googletagmanager.com and Google Analytics sets the two cookies listed above. If you choose Decline, or simply ignore the panel, Google Analytics does not load and none of its cookies are set.
The site uses Google’s consent mode to keep advertising storage switched off. It tells Google that advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation are all denied, and grants analytics storage only after you choose Accept. Advertising storage is never granted, so Google Analytics does not set advertising cookies on this website.
Google Ireland Limited provides Google Analytics to businesses in the European Economic Area (EEA), and Google LLC in the United States may also process the data. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and Google’s data transfers page says it relies on that framework when it transfers personal data from the EEA to the United States for its advertising and analytics products, which include Google Analytics. Google explains how it uses information from websites that use its services on its page about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Cookieless measurement with Umami
We also use Umami, a cookieless analytics tool, to count page views and a small number of actions on the site. Everblue Digital, which builds and maintains this website, runs our Umami service at analytics.everbluedigital.com, and requests to it pass through Cloudflare’s network. Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
Umami’s documentation lists what it records for a page view as the page address and title, the website you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, your screen size, your browser’s language and your approximate location (country, and region and city where available). Umami works out that location from your IP address and says it never stores the address itself. It also records the following events.
| Event | When it is recorded | Extra detail recorded |
|---|---|---|
service_cta_click | You click an enquiry button or link within a page’s content | The service the link relates to |
contact_phone_click | You click our phone number | Where the link sits on the page, such as the header or footer, where available |
contact_email_click | You click our email address | Where the link sits on the page, where available |
enquiry_start | You first type into or change a field in the enquiry form | The service selected in the form |
enquiry_success | Our server confirms it has received your enquiry | The service selected in the form |
enquiry_error | An enquiry cannot be sent | A fixed error category, such as a network problem or a field that needs correcting |
Umami never receives what you type into the enquiry form. Your name, company, email address, phone number, the site or project location you enter, any deadline and the text of your message all stay out of it, and the only detail it takes from the form is the service code from the “What do you need help with?” choice.
Spam protection on the contact page
The enquiry form on our contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a service from Cloudflare, Inc. in the United States, to tell people apart from automated spam. Turnstile loads from challenges.cloudflare.com only on the contact page and checks signals from your browser and device. Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum says these include your IP address, a TLS fingerprint, your browser’s user agent and the site key of the website you are using.
When we tested the form on 3 October 2026, Turnstile set no cookies and no local storage in the browser. Cloudflare processes the signals on our behalf to protect the form, and its addendum explains that it also uses them, as a controller in its own right, to improve Turnstile’s bot detection. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and Cloudflare’s data processing addendum applies the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses to any transfer outside the EEA that the framework does not cover.
Turnstile is part of the form’s spam protection, so it runs whether or not you accept analytics cookies. If the check stops you sending an enquiry, you can email info@projineer.com or call 021 471 2019 instead.
Accepting, declining or changing your choice
The cookie panel appears on your first visit to projineer.com. Choose Accept to allow Google Analytics cookies, or Decline to refuse them. Your choice is saved in your browser as the pj-cookie-consent item listed above, so we do not ask again on every page or visit.
You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below, or the Cookie settings button in the website footer, to reopen the panel and choose again.
If you choose Decline after accepting, Google Analytics stops using analytics storage straight away, and from the next page you open it does not load at all. Cookies it has already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them, as described below. Withdrawing your consent does not change the lawfulness of analytics collected while you had accepted (Article 7(3) GDPR).
If your browser blocks site storage, the website cannot remember your choice, and the panel will appear again on the next page you open.
Deleting cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see and delete the cookies and other site data that websites have stored, either for every site or for one site such as projineer.com, usually in their privacy or security settings. Your browser’s help pages explain the exact steps, and most browsers can also be set to block cookies.
Deleting the site data for projineer.com removes any Google Analytics cookies and your saved cookie choice, so the panel will appear again on your next visit. If you block site storage, the enquiry form confirms that your enquiry was received on the form itself rather than on the thank-you page.
The legal basis for each item
In Ireland, storing information on your device or reading information already stored there is governed by the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011, S.I. No. 336/2011.
- Google Analytics cookies. We set these only with your consent, as Regulation 5(3) of S.I. No. 336/2011 requires. Our use of the personal data they collect also relies on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, and you can withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie settings (Article 7(3) GDPR).
pj-cookie-consentandprojineer:enquiry-confirmed. We rely on the exemption in Regulation 5(5) for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for, which here means recording the cookie choice you made and confirming the enquiry you sent.- Umami and Cloudflare Turnstile. Umami sets no cookies, and Turnstile set no cookies and stored nothing in the browser when we tested it. For the information they process we rely on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, which are understanding how the website is used and protecting the website and enquiry service from spam and abuse.
Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information more generally, and the data protection rights page sets out your rights under the GDPR and how to make a request.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the cookies or storage the website uses change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
